Our Services

1

Reflection

For my competence in cultural engagement, I am submitting my Instagram account and folder with different things I either received or did with the school system, which demonstrates how important it is to be in the school system and how not to be afraid of what people will say to you on social media. I want to be the type of person who does not hold in their faith but speaks boldly. I want to be the type of pastor who doesn’t wait for people to come to the church, but the church will come to them. I chose these things because I saw that I was comfortable in the four walls of my church and fired up about preaching the word, but when I step out, I am timid, and I wanted to break free from that.

Reflection

As I developed and demonstrated cultural engagement, I learned that the people around me wanted me to put up more content, but because of my own insecurities and fears, I did not post the things I was working on. I have a bad habit of comparing myself to other people’s content despite friends and family encouraging me. It shows that this is an area that God wanted to expose in me and allow Him in more. What I learned about the schools is that they will do anything and everything to have more churches involved in the school system. Many of them are believers and want to get their kids hope and a way to connect with God.

Reflection

As a result of the experiences documented by these artifacts, I will continue to develop in cultural engagement by not getting in over my head. I will say that I started getting posts together, but I should have adjusted my goal much sooner. I did absolutely nothing on social media, and I had people wanting more content and encouragement from me. The one thing I will say about communicating with the school system is that it’s much easier than I thought. The goals still need to be worked on, but we have kept communication and are thinking of different ways we can help our community.
